Marine Works
The ocean has always felt like home to me.
From childhood summers lost in the rock pools of Aldinga Reef, to a profound moment of stillness wading through the shallows at Culburra Beach — where the tide moving over the rocks quietly restored my sense of what it means to be alive — to camping at Coffin Bay on the Eyre Peninsula, where I watched entire ecosystems rebuild themselves on a single razorfish.
The ocean keeps teaching me. I keep showing up.
These works are painted in watercolour because nothing else can do what water does — move, reveal, obscure and carry light all at once. Each creature has a presence, a stillness, something it wants to communicate if you're willing to look long enough.
They are not scientific studies. They are conversations.
