I don't plan these things. I just go.

From camping at Coffin Bay on the Eyre Peninsula — swimming every morning in the most pristine water I have ever seen, discovering entire ecosystems rebuilding themselves on a single razorfish — to sitting quietly in the Sydney Botanical Gardens watching a cockatoo conduct herself with the kind of sovereign confidence the word Royal was surely invented for.

These works are a direct response to place. To the extraordinary, stubborn, sometimes hilarious persistence of the natural world. To nature's capacity to regenerate after devastation, and to remind us — if we're paying attention — what actually matters.

I show up with my painting kit and open eyes. Nature does the rest.
