How to Commission a Canvas

1. Enquiry Begin by reaching out through the contact form below. Tell Dee a little about what you're drawn to — a style, a subject, a feeling. You don't need to have it all worked out. That's what the conversation is for.
2. Intro Call Dee will arrange a time to connect — in person or virtually — to explore your ideas, intentions and the vision for the work. This is where it begins to take shape.
3. Concept & Scope Together you'll settle on style, subject, size, palette and medium — oil or acrylic. Whether it's an intimate portrait, a Siren reimagining, a marine work or a landscape, Dee will bring her full practice to the brief.
4. Deposit & Booking A deposit of 30–50% secures your place in Dee's studio schedule. The balance is due on completion.
5. Sitting or Reference Session Depending on the work, Dee will either arrange a sitting — approximately half an hour in person or via a professional photography session — or work from high resolution reference material. She will guide you through exactly what is needed.
6. Painting Allow 4–8 weeks for the work to be completed — layered, developed and refined in studio. Every canvas is built slowly and with intention.
7. Review A progress image can be shared mid-way, though many collectors prefer to meet the finished work with entirely fresh eyes.
8. Framing Framing is highly recommended. UV glazing, archival matting and framing coordination are all available on request.
9. Delivery or Collection Collect from Dee's Sydney studio, or have the work delivered. Interstate and international shipping available.
